FAQ

Where is ACME based?

ACME was born in Cape Town, South Africa and resides in Girona, Spain. We love riding bikes and so the road, gravel and mountain trails Cape Town and Girona served up the ideal testing ground across continents. Both amongst the top cycling cities in the world, our bikes take inspiration from each city.

Where are ACME frames made?

We manufacture in China. It’s not a swear word and our factory takes immense pride in producing the best titanium frames in the world. We work hard with our factory to make sure we have custom-spec’d tubing, our own geometries and a unique set of finishes. We could not have them made better anywhere else.

Do you build customs frame bikes.

At this time, we do not offer a custom frame geometry option. We believe our current offering caters for the majority of riders, and custom builders still cater for the exception.

What payment options are there?

We accept payment in the form of credit card, debit card and EFT. Any questions, drop us a line and we will do our best to find an appropriate payment solution for you.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Due to COVID this question is not as easy to answer as it once was. If we have an item in stock it can be shipped immediately and normally arrives within 10-14 business days. We aim to have out of stock framesets back on our shelves within 8-10 weeks. A 50% pre-order deposit will secure these frames on a first come first serve basis.

For complete builds this is again very much dependant on the availability of parts. The bicycle parts industry is a bit of a circus without a ring master currently, and we are hoping to have complete bikes solutions for you in 2022.

Please note that the above-mentioned time frames do not include potential import or customs delays for orders outside of the EU.

What is your standard warranty?

All ACME framesets come with a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner, with a proof of purchase. Please note this is for the frame only and excludes items such as the fork, headset and build kit, all which have their own warranties, depending on the manufacturer.

It is highly recommended you register your new frameset with us at hello@acmebikes.cc so that we have you on our records.

Can I get a custom paint job?

We do not offer paint as a finish option on any of our ACME  frames.  We choose not to paint our products for a couple of reasons.  Most notably, we prefer the classic beauty of the titanium satin finish which best showcases the beautiful welds on our framesets. Additionally, a non-painted titanium bike means you don’t have to worry about chips, dings and paint damage.

That said, some customers decide they would like a painted ACME frame.  In that case, we are always happy to prepare your frame for paint and work with you to determine the best painter to use for your particular needs.

**Aftermarket custom paint is not covered as part of any warranty work or warranty replacement by ACME.**
